Diaz and Nancy Meyers take a Holiday together

Cameron Diaz, who has been at the center of marriage rumors with her long-time
beau Justin Timberlake over the past several days, has started negotiations
to topline the latest project from filmmaker Nancy Meyers. Diaz will star for
director Meyers in Holiday, which Sony Pictures will distribute under
a deal Meyers has with the studio.
Holiday, also penned by Meyers, is an ensemble romantic comedy focusing
on five main characters. Diaz's character is a woman with man troubles who cannot
get her romantic life in order. Her problems take a turn for the better when
she crosses paths with woman from an English village that seems to be suffering
from the same worries.
Amy Baer, an Executive Vice President at Columbia Pictures, will oversee the
film for the studio.
Diaz, repped by CAA, hasn't been seen on the big screen since starring in Charlie's
Angels: Full Throttle, although she did provide the voice of Princess Fiona
in Shrek 2 last year. She's expected to reprise that voice role in Shrek
3. She'll next be seen with Toni Collette in Curtis Hanson's In Her Shoes,
currently set for release on October 7.
Meyers, repped by ICM, signed a deal with Sony after directing Mel Gibson in
What Women Want, and in 2003 she helmed Something's Gotta Give
for the studio. She also wrote and directed The Parent Trap remake and
has writing credits that include Father of the Bride, Baby Boom
and Private Benjamin. Private Benjamin earned her an Oscar nod
in 1981.
