Brosnan takes a spin on the Wheel

Since he's not gearing up for the next James Bond film, Casino Royale,
Pierce Brosnan has gone Butterfly hunting. The former 007 will jump sides
of the law for the dramatic thriller Butterfly on a Wheel for helmer
Mike Barker. Icon Productions will be producing the film with Infinity Feature
Canada and Brosnan's own Irish DreamTime. Currently the film is slated to begin
shooting in February in Canada and Chicago.
Penned by William Morrissey, the project centers on a seemingly happy couple
whose lives are turned upside down with the kidnapping of their daughter. During
the course of the day, the kidnapper (Brosnan) manages to dissect the family's
lives in a brutal yet efficient manner.
Icon Entertainment International picked up rights to the thriller and will
distribute in the U.K. and Australia while offering up the film to international
buyers at the American Film Market.
Barker and Morrissey had been developing the project with Irish DreamTime,
and it was brought to Icon by Marina Grasic. CAA then packaged the deal and
is working with Icon on the domestic sales of the film.
Brosnan seems to be on a baddie kick as of late. He'll soon be starring as
a hit man in The Weinstein Co.'s The Matador, written and directed by
Richard Shepard. Other recent feature credits for the CAA-repped actor include
After the Sunset, Laws of Attraction and his last Bond film, Die
Another Day.
