Leachman Pleases Palm Springs
Oscar-winning actress Cloris Leachman to be honored with the Chairman's Award
from the 17th annual Palm Springs Film Festival.

Palm Springs fetes Leachman for her career

Cloris Leachman is making the run out to Palm Springs in January. The actress has been chosen for the Chairman's Award at the 17th annual Palm Springs Film Festival.
The film Mrs. Harris…based on the true story of Jean Harris, a girls school headmistress who murdered her lover, Scarsdale Diet creator Dr. Herbert Tarnower…will be shown at the festival, and Leachman…who has a role in the film…will be present for the screening on January 14.
The screening will be followed by a gala fundraiser to honor Leachman, an Oscar winner for her work in The Last Picture Show" and the recipient of eight Emmy Awards. Leachman continues to be busy…she appeared in The Longest Yard remake as well as receiving two Emmy nods last year for guesting on both Joan of Arcadia and Malcolm in the Middle.
Also on the schedule for the upcoming Palm Springs Festival…the debut of Richard E. Grant's film Wah Wah…a dramatic comedy about English Colonial life in Swaziland. Wah Wah and a gala reception will be the closing events of the festival.
