Who will take home the Oscar for Best Makeup? Will it be the pugilistic wounds
of Cinderella Man? Or will it be the period stylings of Mrs. Henderson
Presents? That's the question that's going to be on the minds of the Makeup
Award Nominating Committee come January 28 when the group will be screening
clips of the seven films the Academy has put into consideration for the Academy
Award in Achievement in Makeup.
The Academy announced the seven films that will be taken into consideration
on Tuesday, and those films - in alphabetical order - are:
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Cinderella Man
A History of Violence
The Libertine
Mrs. Henderson Presents
The New World
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
The considered films will now submit a 10-minute clip to the Nominating Committee,
which will view the clips on Jan. 28 and then nominate up to three of the seven
films for Oscar consideration. The nominees in the category will then be announced
Jan. 31 along with the nominees in all other categories.
The 78th annual Academy Awards ceremony will be held on March 5 at the Kodak
Theatre in the Hollywood & Highland complex in Hollywood. The telecast will
air on ABC beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST.
