Whoopi Up Against the Law
NBC hopes Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg can pump some ratings into Law &
Order: Criminal Intent.

Whoopi is about to take on Mr. Big, actually Detective Logan. Daily Variety reports Whoopi Goldberg has signed on to take a guest shot on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, a guest shot that might become a recurring character.
On the show she'll play Chelsey Watkins, reportedly a foster mother with evil intent who mixes it up with Chris Noth's Detective Mike Logan.
This is sweeps stunt casting; the episode will run in early May. Goldberg and Noth apparently cooked up the idea when Whoopi visited the actor's New York bar.
Goldberg has two voice over performances in her personal feature pipeline:
Everyone's Hero, which is animated, and voicing a penguin in the live-action
spoof Farce of the Penguins.
