Alliance Atlantis is making it official: the entertainment company is exiting virtually all in-house production and focusing on continued profitable growth in the broadcast sector. The new streamlined operating structure, under which management was reshuffled and many lost their jobs, is a reflection of that.
"In light of the changes to the company's business model resulting from our Entertainment Group restructuring, it is important that we adopt a streamlined management and operating structure to combine the Broadcast, Entertainment and Corporate Groups into one integrated entity," said Michael MacMillan. "As part of this structure, Phyllis Yaffe is being appointed to the new role of Chief Operating Officer of Alliance Atlantis Communications, effective immediately."
| This streamlined structure does not affect the role and responsibilities of Judson Martin, senior executive vice president and CFO, who will continue to report directly to the chairman and CEO of Alliance Atlantis, as will Yaffe. The Motion Picture Distribution Limited Partnership, in which Alliance Atlantis currently holds a 51% controlling interest, is also unaffected by this new structure. Victor Loewy, CEO of Motion Picture Distribution LP, will continue to report to the Board of Directors of that entity. | |
