ET Weekend's Mark Steines to take Bob Goen's chair at the Entertainment Tonight anchor desk.

It's musical chairs of late in the anchor department of network entertainment news magazines. Now, Paramount Domestic TV's Entertainment Tonight is experiencing its first anchor change in eight years, with Mark Steines moving up to fill the co-anchor vacancy about to be left by Bob Goen.

Goen, who will leave when his contract expires in August, reportedly has a development deal with Paramount. Look for him to show up in another program soon, as recently happened with Pat O'Brien, who formally left Access Hollywood three days ago to become the sole host of The Insider, also at Paramount.

Steines joined ET as a correspondent and substitute anchor in 1995. He became anchor of ET Weekend in 1998, while still serving as a correspondent and substitute anchor on the daily version. Steines was a sports reporter for KCAL-TV Los Angeles before he went to work for ET. Meanwhile, Paramount has signed Kevin Frazier, the ESPN anchor who hosts NBA Studio programming and SportsCenter, to take over from Steines as anchor of Entertainment Tonight Weekend.
