From a former James Bond to a former Saturday Night Live-er, Peter
Cottontail has traversed the entertainment industry landscape in search
of the perfect voice talent, and the project has finally nailed down a cast.
Roger Moore, Molly Shannon, Tom Kenny and Christopher Lloyd will provide the
voices for the CG-animated Peter Cottontail: The Movie for Classic Media.
Based on the Easter television special Here Comes Peter Cottontail,
which aired originally in 1971, Mark Gravas will be directing the 3-D film.
Kenny, who provides the voice for SpongeBob SquarePants, will lend his
voice to the leading characters of Peter Cottontail, Junior and Antoine. Moore
and Shannon will provide the voices of the villains, Irontail and Jackie Frost,
respectively, while Lloyd will be voicing the narrator, Mr. Sassafras. Kenan
Thompson, Miranda Cosgrove and David Koechner also star.
Evan Baily of Classic Media will produce with Kapow Pictures' Sandra Walters
and Alligator Planet's Ralph Guggenheim. Eric Ellenbogen, chair and CEO of Classic
Media, will be the executive producer.
The principal animation on the project is nearly complete. Producers hope to
have the project ready for a bow next spring. Classic Media is in negotiations
for a North American distributor, while Doug Schwalbe is currently repping the
film at AFM.
