Daughtry decides that solo is the way to go

Rocker Chris Daughtry of American Idol fame has decided not to become the new lead singer of Fuel, reports People magazine.
The North Carolina singer said that he expects to complete the Idol summer tour before he announces his next career move. "I'm going to be doing my own thing," Daughtry told The Charlotte Observer.
Inspired by Bo Bice, who paved the way for rockers to grace the stage of the hit Fox show, Daughtry auditioned in Denver, Colorado, making it to the next round by a split decision (notoriously negative judge Simon Cowell felt that Chris was too "robotic"). Daughtry's raw performances, such as his rendition of Fuel's "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)," got him to the final four.
Immediately after the shocking Idol results show that eliminated Daughtry
from the competition, the multi-platinum Fuel offered him the lead singer spot.
"They're good friends of mine," Daughtry told People about Fuel after
the elimination, and continued to say that he had to think about what would
be best for him and his family in terms of the offer.
His solo career can begin after this summer's American Idol concert tour wraps.
