Victims of a senseless crime
Four years ago this August on the beaches of Jenner, California north of San Francisco, a young Christian couple planning to get married (Jason Allen, Lindsay Cutshall) were brutally shot to death in their sleep while camping out in the open air. Despite a $50,000 reward and numerous tips received by the police, the crime remains unsolved.

Such a couple – and such a death – makes up part of the story of Adventure!!!, a feature film currently being pursued by 38-year-old Santa Rosa, CA resident and NYU film school grad Aron Campisano. In keeping with one of the writer-director’s favorite films, M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense, the movie tells its story from the posthumous point of view of young people trying to understand their deaths.

“My intention from day one was to represent, in a fictionalized way, what occurred there in the most tasteful manner," he tells the Press-Democrat newspaper. "They're Christian youth counselors who are painted as idealistic icons in death, as a lot of people are. But if you look at what they did that day, they were illegally camping on the beach, which they knew they shouldn't do."

This past weekend, Campisano completed scenes as part of a trailer for the film, and says he hopes to continue shooting this fall. His first feature-length effort, the as-yet-unreleased The Master Plan, is also a micro-budget effort with religiously tinged supernatural plot overtones.
