Radio's Rolling
Shooting begins on the Revolution Studios drama Radio from director Mike Tollin.

SANTA MONICA, CA (FilmStew.com) - The cameras are rolling on Revolution Studios' Radio, a drama directed by Academy Award nominee Mike Tollin (Chasing the Dream) and starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ed Harris. Tollin and Brian Robbins are producing the film for Revolution Studios for a Fall 2003 release by Sony Pictures Releasing under the Columbia Pictures banner.Inspired by actual events, Radio is the story about how a mentoring relationship between a prominent high school football coach (Harris) and a mentally challenged man nicknamed "Radio" (Gooding) at first divides, but ultimately transforms and unifies a small South Carolina town.The cast also Debra Winger as Linda Jones, the wife of football coach Harold Jones, played by Harris, and Alfre Woodard, who plays the principal at the local high school. S. Epatha Merkerson plays the mother of Radio. The screenplay is by Mike Rich (Finding Forrester, The Rookie). Herb Gains serves as executive producer. Director of photography is Don Burgess. Filming will take place in and around Walterboro, SC.In addition to Radio, Revolution Studios currently has four films in production: the Eddie Murphy comedy Daddy Day Care; the Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles drama Mona Lisa Smile, directed by Mike Newell; director Ron Shelton's action-comedy Hollywood Homicide starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett; and, in a co-production between Universal Pictures, Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios, the live action fantasy Peter Pan, directed by P.J. Hogan.
