That's the basic twain of A Second Son, a VOD faux documentary released today in Britain. It's the debut film of Allistair Mitchell, a corporate and commercial vet whose clients have included BBC News, Microsoft and News International.
Mitchell is no stranger to hoaxes. As a sideline author, he launched his career back in the mid-2000s by engineering the discovery of a dragon artifact that he later admitted was fake.
The 87-minute film, priced at $4.99, is another good example of the joys of DIY. Mitchell has come up with a provocative storyline and figured out a way to tell it cheaply. And if Jesus chose to came back today, why not Merry Old England?
